Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati – Bhalukpong

  • Arrival: Reach Guwahati Railway Station or Guwahati Airport.
  • Kamakhya Temple Visit: Drive to the Maa Kamakhya Temple located on Nilachal Hills, one of the 108 Shakti Peethas in India.
  • Drive to Bhalukpong: After visiting Kamakhya Temple, proceed towards Bhalukpong.
  • Enroute Stop: On the way, stop at Maha Mrityunjay Temple in Nagaon, known for having the world’s largest Shivalinga (126 feet).
  • Night Halt: Reach Bhalukpong and check-in for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Bhalukpong – Dirang

  • After breakfast, begin your drive to Dirang, home to the Monpa tribes in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Enroute, visit the following attractions:
    •  Tippi Orchid Centre
    •  Sessa Orchid Sanctuary
    •  Lummum Waterfalls
    •  Nag Mandir
  • Reach Dirang by evening.
  • Overnight stay in Dirang.

Day 3: Dirang – Sangti Valley – Tawang

  • After breakfast, drive to Sangti Valley
  • Surrounded by the Eastern Himalayan ranges
  • Rich in forests and rivers
  • Later, proceed to Tawang (11,500 ft)
  • Enroute, visit:
    • Sella Lake and Sella Pass (13,746 ft)
    • Jaswantgarh Memorial – dedicated to the soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China war
  • Overnight stay in Tawang

Day 4: Tawang Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, head towards the Indo-China Border.
  • Note: Local vehicle hire and special permits are required.
  • On the way, visit the following scenic spots:
    • PTSo Lake
    • Sangetsar Lake (also known as Madhuri Lake)
  • Return to Tawang for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Tawang Sightseeing

  • After breakfast, begin your sightseeing in Tawang:
    • Tawang Monastery – One of the largest monasteries in India, founded in 1680-81.   
    • Explore Urgelling Monastery – The birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama.
    • See the Giant Buddha Statue – A serene and iconic landmark.
    • Visit Khinmay Monastery – Known for its peaceful ambiance and spiritual significance.
    • Enjoy the Light & Sound Show at Tawang War Memorial – A tribute to the bravery of Indian soldiers.
  • Overnight stay in Tawang.

Day 6: Tawang – Bomdila

  • After breakfast, drive to Bomdila.
  • Enroute, visit:
    • Jung Waterfalls (Nuranang Falls)
    • Bomdila Viewpoint
    • Bomdila Monastery.
  • In the evening, explore the Bomdila market for local artifacts.
  • Overnight stay in Bomdila.

Day 7: Bomdila – Guwahati

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel.
  • Begin the drive towards Guwahati.
  • Enroute, visit Chillipam Monastery.
  • Proceed to visit the Bhutan Border.
  • Continue the drive to Guwahati.
  • Drop off at Guwahati Airport, Railway Station, or your hotel.
